February 2008: Interim review of field trials of Mars Inc. and GTZ public-private partnership (PPP) cooperation in Indonesia shows that pheromone-based mass trapping of cocoa pod borer can significantly improve cocoa quality. Economical analyses are under way to adapt the method to smallholder conditions. |

March 2008: Guidelines for registration of microbials and pheromones (semiochemicals) in Southeast Asia have been prepared and are currently under review in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. A discussion paper on harmonization of biopesticide registration is scheduled to be submitted to ASEAN mid of 2008. |
